1. A Halloween stampede in South Korea killed at least 153 people, mostly young women.

2. 33-year-old Elnaz Rekabi, an Iranian woman rock climber, competed without a hijab overseas and people are praising her bravery.

3. A man in China held a rare protest against Xi Jinping and started a movement around the world.

4. Brazil voted out its far-right president Jair Bolsonaro and elected Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the leftist former president.

5. A gunman attacked a day care in Thailand, shooting, stabbing and killing 34 people, mostly children.
