This Australian Swimmer’s Coach Completely Lost It After She Won Gold At The Olympics
Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus’ coach Dean Boxall has become an instant meme after he went wild after she won gold at the Olympics.
In an upset win over the US defending Olympic champion and world record holder Katie Ledecky, Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus won the gold medal in the 400M freestyle final at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday July 25.
Her performance had her swimming coach, Dean Boxall, going nuts in the stands.
A clip of Boxall absolutely losing his mind while celebrating her win has gone viral,
Boxall waving his arms and gyrating his hips was captured on live team and became an instant meme on social media, with many Twitter users sharing his reaction as a reflection of Aussie pride everywhere.
“Ariarne’s coach Dean Boxall sums it up perfectly. #TokyoTogether,” Australia’s Olympic Team tweeted, while another user tweeted, “If my coach doesn’t react like this when I have a big win then I don’t want it.”
“I can’t believe it, I’m trying to contain my emotions,” Titmus said after the race.
The 20-year-old Australian won with a time of 3:56:69 edging out Ledecky’s 3:57:36 while China’s Bingjie Li took the bronze with a time of 4:01:08.
Titmus and Ledecky will meet again in the pool for the 800m and 200m freestyle events.
