Iran, The US And Israel Have Agreed To A Two-Week Ceasefire
Iran confirmed that the passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be open during the two-week period through coordination with Iran’s armed forces.
Iran, the US and Israel have agreed to a two-week ceasefire.

Trump had warned on Truth Social on Tuesday, April 7, that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran does not agree to open the Strait of Hormuz.

However, two hours before his self-imposed deadline to “wipe” out Iran ended, Trump announced that he and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire after talks with Pakistan’s prime minister, who had been mediating talks between the two countries.

He said he had agreed to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks, while Iran had agreed to the “COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz.”
“This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE. The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East.” he added.
Trump also said the US had received a 10-point proposal from Iran to end the war, calling it "a workable basis on which to negotiate."
He said that many of the points in the plan had already been agreed upon between the US and Iran, and said the two-week ceasefire will allow the agreement to be finalized.
Iran confirmed in a statement it had accepted the pause, saying it would negotiate with the US in Islamabad beginning Friday, April 10, the Washington Post reported.
"It is emphasized that this does not signify the termination of the war," the statement said.
Iran also confirmed that the passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be open during the two-week period through coordination with Iran’s armed forces, with Iran and Oman allowed to charge transit fees on passing ships.

Israel also announced it agreed to the ceasefire and will halt its attacks on Iran, but added that the ceasefire does not include its attacks on Lebanon.
Following the ceasefire announcement, oil prices fell and stock markets jumped with the price of benchmark Brent crude falling by about 13% to US$94.80 a barrel, according to BBC.
