Israel Bombed The Last Functioning Hospital In North Gaza, Killing A Child And Forcing People To Flee
Israeli forces said they targeted a Hamas “Command and Control Center” inside the hospital.

Israel has bombed the last fully functioning hospital in north Gaza, killing a child.
In the early hours of Sunday, April 13, Israel launched multiple strikes on Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, known as the Baptist Hospital, causing a massive fire and destroying the intensive care and surgery departments, according to the BBC.
The attack also destroyed the two-storey genetic laboratory, the pharmacy, the emergency department buildings and surrounding buildings, including the Saint Philip’s church building, according to the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, part of the Anglican Church, which runs the hospital.
Twenty minutes before the attack, the Israeli military ordered all patients, employees and people sheltering in the hospital to evacuate immediately, the Episcopal Diocese reported.
While evacuating the patients, one child who suffered a head injury died due to the rushed evacuations.
Israeli forces said they targeted a Hamas “Command and Control Center” inside the hospital.
Gaza authorities condemned the attack and said that Israel’s allegations are nothing but fake claims to cover up its crimes against a civilian medical facility protected under international law.
Deliberate attacks on healthcare facilities and personnel are war crimes under International Humanitarian Law.
Al-Ahli Arab Hospital was already targeted and bombed before on Oct. 17, 2023, in a massive attack that killed more than 471 Palestinians but Israel claimed the explosion was due to a failed rocket launched by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Israel has completely destroyed at least 36 hospitals in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, according to Gaza’s Media office.
