Israel Has Bombed The Same Refugee Camp In Gaza For The Third Time In Less Three Days, Killing 224 People
After bombing Jabalia refugee camp on Oct. 31, Israel then launched two other attacks on the same camp on Wednesday, Nov. 1 and Thursday, Nov. 2.
Israel has bombed Gaza’s largest refugee camp for a third time in less than three days, killing at least 224 people.
On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Israeli military confirmed it had launched airstrikes on Jabalia refugee camp, the biggest of the eight shelters in Gaza, saying it was targeting a senior Hamas commander.
After the first attack, Israeli officials said they had successfully killed the Hamas military leader who it said was staying in the refugee camp, which is home to 116,000 Palestinian civilians, according to the United Nations.
Israel then launched two other attacks on the same refugee camp on Wednesday, Nov. 1, which it said was targeting another Hamas commander, and Thursday, Nov. 2.
The latest airstrike was aimed at a school within the camp.
The consecutive bombings have killed at least 224 Palestinians, with 120 still missing and more than 777 injured, according to Al Jazeera.
Another refugee camp, Bureij refugee camp, situated in the middle of the Gaza Strip, also suffered an air raid on Nov. 2, leading to a death toll of at least 15 people.
The smaller camp is home to around 46,000 Palestinians, all registered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
On the same day, over 320 foreign passport holders and dozens of critically injured Palestinians, fled Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah border under a deal made by Israel, Hamas and Egypt, according to Reuters.
At least 9,061 people, including 3,760 children, have been killed in Gaza since fighting began on Oct. 7, as reported by Palestinian officials.
Meanwhile, Israeli officials said that Hamas has killed 1,400 people in Israel and taken more than 200 hostages.
