Israel Has Again Closed All Border Crossings Into Gaza Until Further Notice Over Its War In Iran
The closures mean humanitarian aid deliveries into Gaza have been stopped again.
Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza again until further notice, halting humanitarian aid deliveries after Iran launched new missile attacks on Israel.
On Sunday, June 7, Iran launched multiple rounds of ballistic missiles at Israel in retaliation to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon and said the strikes targeted Israel's Ramat David airbase as "a warning."
Israel's air defenses intercepted the missiles and no deaths were reported.
As a response on Monday, June 8, Israel’s military agency COGAT said it had introduced “necessary security measures” after the Iranian attacks, including closing the Kerem Shalom and Rafah crossings into Gaza, Anadolu Agency reported.
Kerem Shalom has been one of the main crossings used for aid entering Gaza, while Rafah, on the border with Egypt, has been used for limited movement of people, including some medical evacuations.
The closures mean aid deliveries into Gaza have been stopped again, as Palestinians in the Strip continue to face severe shortages of food, clean water, medicine and fuel after more than two years of Israel’s genocide.
Save the Children said the decision puts essential supplies for children “under threat once again,” warning that food and water could be pushed further out of reach for families already struggling to survive.
The UN said it does not accept Israel's closure of crossings into Gaza, warning that civilians depend on a steady flow of humanitarian aid and commercial goods for survival.
Israel has repeatedly restricted and shut Gaza’s crossings throughout its genocide in Gaza.
It imposed a total blockade on Gaza between May 2024 and October 2025, blocking the movement of aid and people through the Rafah crossing.
Israel also closed all crossings to Gaza in late February 2026 after it launched with the US an unprovoked war on Iran.
The latest closure comes as ceasefire talks over Gaza continue in Cairo, Egypt, with Palestinian groups demanding an end to Israeli attacks, more humanitarian aid and the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
