A US former contractor for the controversial US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has exposed the horrifying way Israeli forces shot and killed a starved Palestinian boy named Amir shortly after he received aid at one of GHF’s distribution sites.

Anthony Aguilar, a retired US Army Green Beret who worked as a contractor for GHF, went on UnXeptable podcast on Monday, July 28, and said that GHF aid distribution sites are "designed death traps" where civilians are lured in for aid but then killed or injured.

Aguilar recounted the story of Amir, a young Palestinian boy who doesn’t look older than 12 years old, with his clothes falling off his frail body.

Aguilar said Amir had walked approximately 12 kilometers barefoot to the distribution center to receive a small packet of food aid on May 28.

After receiving the aid, Amir walked toward Aguilar, kissed his hand in appreciation and said “shukran,” thank you in Arabic, for receiving not much than half a bag of flour, a small bag of rice and some lentils.

However, Israeli forces then opened fire on the crowd, shooting pepper spray, tear gas, stun grenades and bullets at civilians, including women and children, who were “dropping to the ground, getting shot. And Amir was one of them," Aguilar said.

That's not Hamas. That's not a Hamas fighter. He doesn't have a box of food. He has half a bag of rice, half a bag of lentils that he found on the ground. And he was thanking us," he said.

After the video of Aguilar went viral, Amir’s family recognized their son and came forward.

Amir’s actual name is Abdulrahim Mohammed al-Jarabe’a, and he is a 10-year-old boy who went missing after going to get aid.

Al-Jarabe’a’s family is still looking for him as he is still missing.

They’ve searched most hospitals in Gaza to find him or even his body.

Aguilar said that GHF’s aid sites are designed to dehumanize Palestinians and “treat them like animals.”

“The best way to describe how the Palestinians reach the site to receive aid is akin to the Hunger Games," Aguilar said in another interview with US Senator Bernie Sanders.
