Israeli forces have reportedly violated the ceasefire, with Israeli snipers shooting and killing three Palestinians in southern Gaza on Monday, Jan. 20.
The three Palestinians killed including a child, a 15-year-old boy named Zakariya Barbakh, who was reportedly returning to his home in Rafah.
A video that went viral on social media showed Israeli snipers then repeatedly opening fire on a man trying to retrieve Barbakh's body.
During the first phase of the ceasefire, which officially began on Sunday, Jan. 19, and is to last six weeks, Israel and Hamas had agreed to a halt in fighting.
Hamas is also expected to release 33 Israeli hostages in return for Israel release almost 2,000 Palestinians held in its prisons.
Since the ceasefire took hold, Gaza's Civil Defense recovered the bodies of 97 Palestinians buried under the rubble in Rafah.
Meanwhile, a significant influx of humanitarian aid has finally entered the Gaza Strip but is still far from meeting the overwhelming needs of the population, according to Al Jazeera.
