In the video, the man, who is seen recording Trudeau, tells Trudeau he is a supporter of the People’s Party of Canada and that he believes “liberal abortion is against Christianity.”

“Do you think women should have the right to choose what happens to their own bodies?” Trudeau asks.

“Personally, no,” the man responds, before Trudeau proceeds to ask him if he think she should be able to choose what happens to a woman’s body.

“I think if they’re sleeping around they shouldn’t be allowed to abort the baby, personally,” the man said.

“So, a woman who is raped should be able to get an abortion?” Trudeau then asks.

The man then says that’s where it gets complicated, calling it a “super specific example.”

“No, it doesn’t get complicated. It’s a yes or no,” Trudeau says. “It’s an all-too-common example. Women get raped all the time and it’s something we have to take seriously.”

He then asks the man again if he thinks a woman who has been raped should be able to get an abortion.

“Uh, I’m split on it,” the man replies.

“Well, it sounds like you need to do a little more thinking,” Trudeau says, “And a little bit more praying.”

Trudeau is then seen patting the man on the shoulder and turning away.

People online have praised Trudeau for standing up for women’s rights.

Abortion is legal at all stages of pregnancy and is publicly funded as a medical procedure in Canada.
