Meghan Markle Said In An Interview She Was “The Most Trolled Person In The Entire World” For 10 Years
“Every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world."
Meghan Markle said she was “the most trolled person in the entire world” for 10 years during a visit to a mental health charity in Australia.
On Thursday, April 16, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited an Australian youth mental health charity, Batyr, that helps young people to reach out and reduce mental health stigma.
Batyr said the couple spoke with 16 youth advocates from rural towns in Australia, who had come to a two-day workshop in Melbourne to share their experiences and explore solutions on mental health.
“Every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world," Markle opened up, but added she was still here.
She said the “billion-dollar” social media industry is “completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks” and that it wouldn’t change, calling for young people to “be stronger than that.”
In 2020, Markle appeared on the Teenager Therapy podcast and said that she was told in 2019 that she was “the most trolled person in the entire world, man or woman.”
“I wasn't even visible. I was on maternity leave or with a baby, but what was able to just be manufactured and churned out, it's almost unsurvivable."
During their visit to Batyr, Harry also opened up about seeking therapy at a much older age.
The couple also discussed Australia’s recent ban on social media for children under 16, which Harry called an “epic” move, PA media reported, according to People.
