Miss Universe Contestants Staged A Mass Walk Out After A Thai Director Scolded Miss Universe Mexico

Dozens of Miss Universe contestants walked out of a Miss Universe event in Thailand ahead of the 74th annual pageant after a Thai director of the event scolded Miss Universe Mexico for not promoting Thailand.
During a pre-pageant ceremony that was live streamed on Facebook on Nov. 4, Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil was seen berating Miss Universe Mexico Fátima Bosch and calling her “dumb” for reportedly not participating in promotional content for Thailand as the host country.
Itsaragrisil started asking contestants who haven’t participated in promotional content for Thailand, saying he has a list of 20 contestants who have not participated.
He then singled out Bosch and accused her of refusing to participate in a group promotional photo shoot for Thailand, claiming that her country’s organization told her not to participate.
Itsaragrisil called Bosch "dumb" and kept telling her to stop talking when she tried to respond.
24-year-old Bosch then told him that he was disrespecting her as a woman, adding that she has a voice.
Bosch eventually walked out of the event as Itsaragrisil continued to reprimand her, while dozens of contestants followed her in solidarity.
"I just want to let my country know, I'm not afraid to make my voice heard. It's here stronger than ever," Bosch said in an interview clip shared by @miss.ardor. "I have a purpose; I have things to say."
Miss Universe Organization (MUO) president Raúl Rocha Cantú has criticized Itsaragrisil's "malicious acts" against Bosch.
Rocha said that MUO would be taking "legal actions" against Itsaragrisil, adding that his participation in the pageant will be limited, including restricting him from the pageant, which will be held on Nov. 21.
