Palestine Announced Its 2026 Football World Cup Qualifiers’ Team With A Moving Video Shot In Gaza

The Palestine Football Association (PFA) has announced the players representing their national football team at the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a moving video shot in Gaza.

The video, posted on March 13, shows children finding the portraits of the 26 players nominated to play at the qualifiers throughout Gaza, such as along the seashore, in tents and amid the rubble.

The group of boys then hang the portraits on the goal post and around a football field before starting their own game.

The Palestine team is scheduled to play Jordan on March 20 and Iraq on March 25 at the Amman International Stadium in Jordan.

Their last match, a 1-1 tie, was against South Korea on Nov. 19, 2024.

During the last game, the South Korean Tottenham Hotspur captain praised the Palestinian team for their preparedness, saying, “ I think we need to learn from seeing them work so hard even in difficult situations."
