South Korea Held A "Power Nap" Contest Where People Competed To Sleep The Hardest For 90 Minutes
Contestants had to nap for one hour and 30 minutes but were challenged with distractions.
South Korea held a “power nap” contest to promote the importance of rest and sleep.
More than 100 people gathered at Han River Park in Seoul on May 18, where they had to nap for one hour and 30 minutes.
The contestants, wearing comfy pajamas and holding cuddly toys, were challenged with distractions such as being tickled by feathers, whispers and mosquito noises.
The winner is chosen based on the difference in their heart rate before and during the nap, as a larger difference indicates a better sleep quality.
The contest aimed to raise awareness about the significance of taking breaks and prioritizing sleep in South Korean society, which is known for its high-pressure environment.
