At Least 18 Women Have Been Killed In Syria In The Seventh Car Bombing In Just Over A Month
The new Syrian presidency condemned the attack, calling it a “terrorist” attack and vowing “this crime will not go unpunished.”

At least 20 people, mostly women and children, have been killed in a car bombing in north Syria, in the deadliest attack since president Bashar al-Assad was toppled in December 2024.
The car was bombed on Monday, Feb. 3, on a main road in the Manbij area in northern Aleppo.
The White Helmets, Syria’s Civil Defense, reported the bombing was near another car carrying farmers, killing at least 20 people, including 18 women and injuring 18 other women and girls.
Manbij has been experiencing ongoing clashes between Turkish-backed factions, known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) since the fall of Assad’s regime, with this being the seventh car bombing the area in just over a month.
Another car bombing in Manbij on Saturday, Feb. 1, killed at least four people and injured nine others, according to SANA.
The new Syrian presidency condemned the Monday attack in a statement, calling it a “terrorist” attack and vowing “this crime will not go unpunished.”
The SDF has accused Turkish-backed forces of being involved in the attack and said they are coordinating with Syria’s transitional government to investigate.
However, no group claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
