Trump Said He Has Now Ended Eight Wars With The Gaza Ceasefire Deal And It’ll Bring The Middle East Peace
“We ended the war in Gaza and really, on a much bigger basis, created peace.”

US President Donald Trump has claimed credit for ending eight wars after announcing that Israel and Hamas had agreed to the first phase of a ceasefire deal he put forward.
On Thursday, Oct. 9, Trump announced on Truth Social that the two sides had agreed to the first phase, saying all Israeli hostages will be released “very soon” and Israel will pull its troops back to an agreed line.
Qatar confirmed on X that the two sides reached an agreement on the first phase, which will lead to the ending the war, releasing the Israeli hostages and Palestinians held in Israeli prisons and aid entering Gaza, saying more details will be announced later.
Trump shared details of the ceasefire deal during his meeting with his Cabinet at the White House on the same day.
“We ended the war in Gaza and really, on a much bigger basis, created peace,” he said at the press conference, claiming this was the eighth war he has ended during his presidency.
He said the Israeli hostages will be released on Monday, Oct.13, or Tuesday, Oct. 14, including the remains of dead hostages.
48 Israeli hostages are still held in Gaza, 20 of whom are believed to still be alive.
Trump also said he was planning to travel to Egypt for an official signing of the deal.
He offered no specifics on reconstruction funding for Gaza but said “tremendous wealth” from countries in the region “will do wonders for Gaza”.
He also gave few details on the second phase of the deal.
Some details, such as the full timeline of Israeli troops’ withdrawal, Gaza governance after the war and the conditions around Hamas’ disarmament, are still being negotiated.
Hours after the meeting, Israel’s cabinet approved phase one of the ceasefire deal.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed 67,194 people since Oct. 7, 2023.
