Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Ministry has launched a NFT (non-fungible token) museum to document the history of Russia’s invasion through unique, digital artworks.
The Meta History Museum of War aims to preserve the memory and truthful information of the real events of the war through NFTs, which are unique digital items stored on a blockchain – a digital database – that can be sold and traded.
The online museum is made of digital artworks that each contain a news story from an official source, accompanied by an illustration from a Ukrainian or international artist.
The NFTs are created and presented in a chronological order, starting from Russia announcing a “special military operation” in Donbas at 5:45am on Feb. 24, 2022.
“Disinformation is used by Russia on a par with deadly military weapons in Ukraine,” the museum tweeted. “The NFT-museum is based on a deep intention to keep the memory of real wartime events via blockchain and raise charitable donations to support Ukraine.
