Children In Gaza Held A Symbolic Funeral For Other Children Who Died Of Starvation Due To Israel’s War
The United Nations said that more children have been killed in four months of the war on Gaza than in four years of global war.
Children in Gaza organized a symbolic funeral for other children who had died of starvation to demand an end to the war.
A group of children held the symbolic ceremony on March 6, protesting the famine caused by Israel’s ongoing attacks and blockade on Gaza.
The children organized the protest before Ramadan started in the hopes that food and humanitarian aid would be allowed in before the start of the holy month.
In the video, the children are seen holding what looks like a child covered in a shroud with a sign saying, “What a shame this kid died of starvation”.
The children in the protest called on Arab countries for freedom, with some of the banners reading, “Our nation: Ramadan is coming and we are dying of fear and hunger”.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said at least 25 Palestinian children have starved to death in Gaza in recent days as Israeli authorities continue to block and restrict humanitarian aid.
Children in Gaza are also suffering from “complete psychological destruction” as Israel’s war is inflicting lifelong detrimental mental harm, according to Save the Children International.
The United Nations said that more children have been killed in four months of the war on Gaza than in four years of global war.
More than 12,300 children were killed in Gaza between October 2023 and February 2024, which is more than the 12,193 children killed in conflicts around the world from 2019 to 2022.
Since Oct. 7, Israel’s airstrikes and ground offensive have killed more than 31,000 Palestinians in Gaza, most of them women and children.
