Israel Said The Iran Ceasefire Does Not Include Lebanon And Then Bombed It With Over 100 Strikes In 10 Minutes

Iran warned it will withdraw from the ceasefire agreement if Israel continues to violate it by attacking Lebanon.

Israel has said the two-week ceasefire with Iran “does not include Lebanon” and launched one of its heaviest waves of strikes across Lebanon.

After Israel and the US launched their joint unprovoked war on Iran on Feb. 28 and assassinated Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Israel has also been striking Lebanon following Hezbollah's retaliation for the assassination of Khamenei, who Hezbollah considers its spiritual leader.

In the early hours of Wednesday, April 8, the US and Iran announced a two-week pause in fighting, brokered by Pakistan.

US President Donald Trump hailed it as "a big day for World Peace," and said the US and Israel would suspend bombing Iran for two weeks while Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz.

Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said the US, Iran and their allies “have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and elsewhere.”

Hezbollah has stopped its attacks on north Israel as the ceasefire took effect.

However, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced in a post on X on Wednesday that Israel is committed to the ceasefire in Iran but will keep bombing Lebanon, adding that Lebanon is considered a separate conflict.

Following the announcement, Israel’s military said it launched the largest coordinated strike of the war, with over 100 strikes across Lebanon in less than 10 minutes, including in Beirut, Beqaa and southern Lebanon.

Israel said the strikes targeted Hezbollah sites.

Most of the strikes hit civilian populated areas, killing 254 people and injuring 1,165 others.

Iran warned it will withdraw from the ceasefire agreement if Israel continues to violate it by attacking Lebanon.

Since March 2, Israel has issued evacuation orders covering around 15% of Lebanese territory, forcing more than 1.2 million people to flee their homes.
