Netanyahu Said Israel Has Killed The Commander-In-Chief Of Hamas’ Armed Wing
“We have eliminated and will eliminate everyone who did the October 7 to us,” Netanyahu said.
Hamas has confirmed that Israel has assassinated Izz al-Din al-Haddad, the commander-in-chief of its armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades Izz al-Din al-Haddad in Gaza despite the “ceasefire.”
On Friday, May 15, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and defense minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement that Israeli forces had targeted and killed Haddad in strikes on Gaza City, calling him “one of the architects” of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack.
Israeli forces had launched three missiles simultaneously from two separate directions on a residential building in Gaza City, according to BBC.
The strikes targeting the apartment block sparked a large fire.
Another air strike then targeted a car seen leaving the scene, according to local sources.
The strike on the building killed four people, while the strike on the car killed three others, including Haddad, his wife and his daughter, according to Al Jazeera.
Three women and a baby were among those killed and dozens of others were injured, Al Jazeera reported.
“We have eliminated and will eliminate everyone who did the October 7 to us,” Netanyahu said in another statement.
Hamas later confirmed on Saturday, May 16, that Israel had killed Haddad and his family on Friday, calling it a “treacherous and cowardly assassination” and another violation of the “ceasefire
Israel has violated the “ceasefire” in Gaza over 2,400 times, killing more than 880 Palestinians since it began on Oct. 10.
