This 13-Year-Old Girl In Lebanon Captured The Moment Israel Bombed The Country With Over 100 Strikes
The strike hit near the girl and her father, and they started running in panic for cover.
A 13-year-old girl in Lebanon captured the moment Israel bombed Beirut as it launched more than 100 strikes on the country within 10 minutes.
In the early hours of Wednesday, April 8, the US and Iran announced a two-week pause in fighting, brokered by Pakistan.
Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said the US, Iran and their allies “have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and elsewhere.”
Hezbollah stopped its attacks on northern Israel as the ceasefire took effect.
However, Israel said Lebanon is “not included in the ceasefire” and launched more than 100 strikes across Lebanon within 10 minutes, including in Beirut, Beqaa and southern Lebanon.
The 13-year-old girl’s video, which was posted by her mother, Ghida Margie, on social media, showed the girl walking with her father through the streets of Beirut after basketball practice, filming a Snapchat video before hearing a strike nearby.
Another strike then hit near them, and they started running in panic for cover.
Margie said her daughter called her crying, and she couldn’t understand what was happening at first.
“A thousand thoughts racing through his mind: The boys at home with the helper… are they safe? Are they hearing this? Where will the next missile hit? Is it over?” Margie said on her Instagram post.
Margie was able to go home to her 11-year-old and four-year-old boys, who were trembling from fear.
“No mother should have to choose between which child to reach first,” she said.
Lebanon's civil defense said at least 254 people were killed, 90 in Beirut alone, and 1,165 were injured.
Iran warned it will withdraw from the ceasefire agreement and close the Strait of Hormuz again if Israel continues to violate it by attacking Lebanon.
Lebanon declared Thursday, April 9, a national day of mourning.
